Slow Cooker Cumin Pork - Recipe

Ingredients:

2 lbs pork shoulder or pork butt, trimmed and cut into 2-inch cubes

1 tbsp vegetable oil

2 tbsp TOP FOOD Cumin Powder

1 tsp TOP FOOD Paprika

1 tsp TOP FOOD Garlic Powder

1 tsp TOP FOOD Onion Powder

1 tsp TOP FOOD Oregano

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp TOP FOOD Black Pepper Powder

1 onion, chopped

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 cup chicken or vegetable broth

Juice of 1 lime

Fresh cilantro leaves, chopped for garnish

Instructions:

1. In a small bowl, mix together TOP FOOD Cumin, Paprika, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, dried Oregano, salt, and Black Pepper.

2. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork cubes.

3. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork and cook until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes.

4. Transfer the pork to a slow cooker.

5. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.

6. Pour the chicken or vegetable broth into the skillet and scrape up any browned bits.

7. Pour the onion and broth mixture over the pork in the slow cooker.

8. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours, until the pork is tender and falling apart.

9. Using two forks, shred the pork in the slow cooker.

10. Squeeze the lime juice over the shredded pork and mix well.

11. Garnish with chopped cilantro leaves.

Your slow cooker cumin pork is ready to serve! Enjoy it with rice, beans, or tortillas.
