Beef Noodle Soup - Recipe

Ingredients:

500g beef sirloin or flank steak, sliced into thin strips (1.1 lb)

1 tablespoon TOP FOOD Chinese 5 Spice Blend

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 onion, chopped

4 garlic cloves, minced

2 tablespoons ginger, minced

4 cups beef broth (946 ml)

2 cups water (473 ml)

3 TOP FOOD Star Anise

2 TOP FOOD Cinnamon Sticks

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 package of fresh or dried egg noodles (250g)

2 green onions, thinly sliced

Fresh cilantro leaves, chopped (optional)

Instructions:

1. In a bowl, mix together the beef strips and TOP FOOD Chinese 5 Spice Blend until the meat is evenly coated.

2. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger and sauté until softened and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.

3. Add the seasoned beef to the pot and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

4. Pour in the beef broth and water, then add the TOP FOOD Star Anise, Cinnamon Sticks, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Stir to combine.

5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the beef is tender.

6. Meanwhile, cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

7. To serve, divide the noodles among four bowls, then ladle the beef and broth over the top. Garnish with sliced green onions and chopped cilantro leaves, if desired.
