Fajita Seasoning

Fajita seasoning is a blend of spices commonly used in Mexican cuisine to add flavor to fajitas, a popular Tex-Mex dish made with grilled meat (usually beef, chicken or shrimp), peppers, and onions served on a flour or corn tortilla. The exact ingredients and ratios can vary, but typically include a combination of chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, and sometimes oregano, salt, and black pepper. Fajita seasoning can be purchased pre-made at most grocery stores, but it can also be made at home by combining individual spices in the desired proportions.

Fajita seasoning is primarily used to flavor meats and vegetables in fajitas, but it can also be used to add Mexican-inspired flavor to other dishes, such as tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. The seasoning can be used as a dry rub or mixed with oil to marinate the meat before grilling or sautéing. It can also be added to vegetables, such as onions and peppers, to give them a bold and smoky flavor. Some people also sprinkle fajita seasoning on popcorn or roasted nuts for a quick and easy snack. With its versatile flavor and simple preparation, fajita seasoning has become a popular spice blend in many kitchens around the world.
